Rakuten Viber, the most popular messenger in Ukraine, shares data on mobile platforms, top brands and models of smartphones used by Ukrainians. The statistics reflects data on smartphones that have Viber installed.
The company notes that these statistics are obtained through Rakuten Viber’s internal tools and include only generalized data on smartphone brands and models. Viber chats and calls are securely protected by end-to-end encryption by default – only the interlocutors have access to them.
Mobile platforms
The majority of Ukrainians traditionally prefer Android smartphones (78% in February 2024), but the number of iOS users has been growing for several years in a row. In 2024, iOS users accounted for 22%, while in 2023 they were 19%, and in 2022 they were 17%.
Top most popular brands
Compared to the previous Rakuten Viber data from 2022 and 2023, the top five most popular smartphone brands in Ukraine remained unchanged. Samsung ranks first, followed by Redmi and Apple. Xiaomi and Huawei round out the top. It is worth reminding that Redmi is also a Xiaomi brand.

Top of the most popular smartphone models
The top five most popular smartphone models have not changed compared to 2023. Surprisingly, users still prefer the same models. Although the model lines have changed a long time ago. However, most people still seem to use old smartphones.
Moreover, Redmi occupies four out of five top spots, while the iPhone 11 took the second place.
