Today, we are completing our reviews of the Redmi Note 13 line with a budget model with 5G. The Redmi Note 13 5G has similar characteristics as the 4G model. But the smartphone uses a Dimensity 6080 processor with 5G support and Gorilla Glass 5 display protection.
The box
The box with the phone, accessories and documents is similar to other models of the series that we have already reviewed. There is also a convenient protective case and a screen protector that comes with the phone.
We received a Graphite Black smartphone for testing. It has 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage.

Appearance
Externally, Redmi Note 13 5G looks like Redmi Note 13 4G. It’s the same durable plastic. The edging is the same.
But still, the manufacturer decided to implement the main camera unit differently, where it is placed on a separate dedicated island with a mirror surface.
In addition, the placement of some functional elements is different. For example, the SIM and microSD tray has a different design, where the cards are placed next to each other, and the slot itself is located at the top of the left edge.
So, the volume control and power button are located on the right edge, the card slot is on the left, the top has a 3.5 mm audio output, an IR port, a noise-canceling microphone hole, and 6 speaker holes, a USB-C port, and a main microphone hole.
The card tray is combined. It can accommodate two nano SIMs or one SIM card and a microSD memory card.
The phone body is very comfortable and holds firmly in your hand. You can also place it horizontally on a table with an object to watch videos.
The phone has the same battery life as the 4G model. It has NFC and other communication interfaces.
Screen and sound
The phone’s AMOLED screen is very bright, and it also has high-quality stereo sound. These characteristics are fully consistent with Redmi Note 13.
Improved protection
Gorilla Glass 5, on the other hand, is theoretically capable of much better protecting a smartphone screen during drops.
Even the fourth generation of the company’s safety glass is twice as strong as its predecessor, which was tested in laboratory conditions. But the 5th generation was developed with an emphasis on even greater resistance to falls, and is four times stronger than the 4th generation.
In laboratory conditions, Corning managed to find out that Gorilla Glass 5 “survives” even when dropped from a height of up to 1.6 meters. At the same time, the manufacturer claims that in 80% of cases of a “hard” fall from a height of up to 1 meter, it also remains intact.
Thus, Gorilla Glass 5 is 8 times better at protecting your phone from drops than Gorilla Glass 3.
Power of Redmi Note 13 5G
The smartphone is powered by an 8-core MediaTek Dimensity 6080 chipset. 6 cores have a frequency of 2 GHz, and two more powerful cores have a frequency of 2.4 GHz. It has a Mali-G57 graphics processor and 8 GB of RAM, as well as 5G support.
However, compared to the Snapdragon 685 in Redmi Note 13, this processor has no significant advantages. To begin with, the maximum frequency of the SD 685 is 2.8 GHz. And the Adreno 610 GPU is no worse. The GPU frequency of both chipsets is 950 MHz. Here are the results of the tests:

Interface and applications
