Ubiquiti has officially unveiled its new Enterprise Campus Switch Core (ECS-Core), a high-performance L3 Ethernet core switch designed for enterprise networks. The announcement, made by the company on September 3rd, introduces a robust solution built to handle demanding network traffic.
Powerful Core Connectivity
The ECS-Core boasts an impressive array of connectivity options, featuring 32 ports of 100Gbps QSFP28. This high-density, high-speed port configuration is complemented by a single 1Gbps RJ-45 port and a dedicated console port. Under the hood, the switch delivers a total non-blocking throughput of 3.2Tbps and a forwarding rate of 2.8 billion packets per second (Bpps), ensuring minimal latency and maximum efficiency for data-intensive applications.
Robust Design and Features
Designed for enterprise environments, the ECS-Core adopts a 1U 19-inch rack-mountable form factor. It supports advanced networking features such as MC-LAG (Multi-Chassis Link Aggregation), providing enhanced redundancy and resilience. The switch is equipped with a comprehensive suite of L3 and L2 functionalities, crucial for managing complex campus network infrastructures. For reliability, it incorporates redundant power modules and five hot-swappable fans, ensuring continuous operation even in demanding conditions.

New PoE Switch Also Introduced
Alongside the ECS-Core, Ubiquiti also announced the Enterprise Campus 48S PoE (ECS-48S-PoE), an L3 PoE+++ switch. This model is available for $3,999 USD and offers a different set of capabilities tailored for edge and access layer deployments requiring Power over Ethernet. The ECS-48S-PoE features 32 ports of 2.5Gbps RJ-45 with PoE+++ and 16 ports of 10Gbps RJ-45, also with PoE+++. Additionally, it includes 1Gbps RJ-45, four 25Gbps SFP28 ports, and two 100Gbps QSFP28 ports, providing a versatile mix for various connectivity needs.
