Dyson is set to launch its new R2 robot vacuum and mop, featuring an innovative triangular mop design and an advanced ‘All-Around Cyclone Base’. Pre-orders are slated to begin on September 7th, with the official release on September 14th.
Innovative Cleaning Technology
The R2 robot vacuum is equipped with 360° LiDAR technology, enabling precise environmental scanning and intelligent path planning for comprehensive whole-home cleaning. A standout feature is its unique RLLO triangular mop design, complemented by an extendable side brush. This combination allows the R2 to reach deep into corners and along edges, areas often missed by traditional cleaning devices.
The device offers both powerful dry vacuuming and thorough wet mopping capabilities. This dual functionality ensures it can tackle a variety of messes and floor types, from fine dust to stubborn spills. The integration of both suction and mopping in a single unit aims to simplify the cleaning process for users.
Advanced Self-Maintenance Base
Accompanying the R2 is Dyson’s ‘All-Around Cyclone Base’, designed to automate much of the maintenance associated with robot vacuums. This intelligent base features hot water washing for the mop pads, hot air drying, and automatic dust collection.
After each cleaning cycle, the base automatically cleans and dries the mop pads, ensuring they are ready for the next use and promoting better hygiene. Furthermore, the base can hold dust for up to 90 days without requiring manual emptying, significantly reducing user intervention. The bagless design of the dustbin also contributes to lowering ongoing maintenance costs, eliminating the need for replacement dust bags.
