Razer releases a mechanical keyboard

On Tuesday, Razer released its first keyboard for the “Build it Yourself” kit. As the name suggests, the BlackWidow V4 75% Barebones is a popular mechanical keyboard, but without keys and keycaps. This might be a good option if you like the Razer and Chroma RGB design but want to use your own keys.

Otherwise, the Barebones BlackWidow is identical to the fully assembled version. It still supports 3-pin or 5-pin mechanical switches and custom keycaps. Thanks to Razer’s HyperPolling technology, it delivers up to 8,000Hz of polling rates.

Other details include factory-lubricated stabilizers for smoother keystrokes and dual-layer damping foam. It even has pre-applied tape to soften high frequencies. Engadget’s Igor Bonifacic reviewed the keyboard for IGN in 2023 to get the full scoop on its capabilities.

The black pitted version costs $140, which is $60 cheaper than the pre-assembled version. The white version costs a little less – $150 (unfortunately, you can’t buy the hollow model in ghostly green). You can order the BlackWidow V4 75% Barebones today on the Razer website.
