First announced at CES 2024, the optional Clicks physical keyboard for the iPhone has proven to be a modest hit. Soon, some Android users will be able to join in. That’s right. The company has just announced a redesign specifically for certain Android phones.
The overall design is not too different from the iPhone version. It’s a case that you insert your phone into. Once connected, you can type with the physical keys using the free Android app. The keys are backlit, charge via USB-C, and support keyboard shortcuts. By their nature, Clicks keyboards also provide a larger screen area, which is always nice.
The company says that these new versions feature “brushed metal side keys, microfiber interior, and precision-molded bodies that are custom designed for every Android smartphone.” Despite this, the Clicks Android keyboard only integrates with the Pixel 9 and 9 Pro, Galaxy S25, and Moto Razr+. The latter actually requires a unique design, given that the Razr+ folds in a flip style.
The Pixel 9 versions will be released first, at the end of April, by pre-order for $99. This promotion ends on March 21, and the price will rise to $139. The Razr+ case will go on sale in May, and the pre-order promotion will last until March 21 at a price of $99. The Samsung Galaxy model will start shipping in June and has the same pre-order pricing model at $99/$139 with a March 21 deadline.
