Xiaomi has officially unveiled its latest innovation in kitchen ventilation: the Mi Smart Range Hood 3 Max. This new flagship appliance boasts an impressive array of features, including AI-driven smoke control, advanced purification technology, and enhanced safety monitoring. The company also announced the Mi Timing Gas Stove 3 Max alongside the range hood, with both products now available for pre-sale.
Cutting-Edge AI Smoke Management
The Mi Smart Range Hood 3 Max is positioned as Xiaomi’s most powerful purification range hood to date. It features triple purification patents and an AI vision system designed to provide continuous, hands-free smoke management. The system boasts millisecond-level responsiveness to changes in cooking fumes. Performance-wise, Xiaomi claims a 34.6% increase in airflow speed, an 89% boost in static pressure, and an 84% reduction in noise intensity compared to its predecessor.
The triple purification system is built around a four-vortex air capture mechanism to contain smoke at the source, preventing its spread. A high-speed rear-倾 (qīng – tilt) airflow system instantly absorbs intense fumes from high-heat cooking, while an anti-spill barrier reduces smoke from billowing towards the user. The range hood achieves a maximum airflow speed of 17.5 m/s, dubbed ‘Hurricane Suction’ by Xiaomi, powered by a 360W high-speed motor. This setup is designed to handle even the most pungent cooking aromas, ensuring an odor-free kitchen, even in open-plan layouts.
Intelligent Operation and Safety Features
At the heart of the AI capabilities is a 3-megapixel HD camera paired with a VLA visual large model. This combination allows for over 98% accuracy in adjusting ventilation speeds based on real-time smoke detection. Trained on over 100,000 real cooking scenarios, the system analyzes smoke changes every 0.1 seconds. It automatically ramps up suction within 0.6 seconds of detecting smoke and reduces power once the air is clear, ensuring efficient and timely ventilation.
Beyond smoke control, the range hood includes an AI anti-overflow feature. It monitors for signs of a pot boiling over and provides immediate audible alerts. In conjunction with compatible Mi Smart Gas Stoves, it can even automatically shut off the flame if an overflow is detected.

Xiaomi has implemented extensive noise reduction measures, including 17 design points, five core technologies, and 12 auxiliary designs. This results in an 84% reduction in noise intensity at high settings compared to the previous model. The maximum operating noise is reported to be just 59 dB(A), making it significantly quieter during operation.
The official retail price for the Mi Smart Range Hood 3 Max is 5999 yuan. However, with government subsidies, the net price is reduced to 4599 yuan. Government subsidies for electronics and home appliances are ongoing in China through 2026, potentially offering further savings for eligible consumers.
