On November 15, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to appoint Brigadier General Oleksandr Potiy as the Head of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine.
Oleksandr Potiy has over 25 years of experience in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where he worked on issues of communication security and information technology. In addition to his military service, he has more than 20 years of experience in academia, holds a Doctor of Technical Sciences and a professorship, and has made a significant contribution to the development of scientific research. Since 2020, he has held the position of Deputy Head of the State Special Communications Service of Ukraine, responsible for strategic areas of work.
In his statement after the appointment, Oleksandr Potiy said:
“We continue to guard the security of our state and fulfill the duties assigned to the State Special Communications Service.”
According to him, the priority is to further strengthen the areas that have been actively developing in the Service both before and after the start of the full-scale invasion.
This appointment emphasizes the importance of strengthening cybersecurity and government communications security, broadcasting reliability, and the development of information security technologies in the face of the current challenges facing Ukraine.
