On November 18, the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine launched the Digital Literacy Week, an annual campaign to test and improve the digital skills of Ukrainians.
Who can join in
This year, we are testing how well you know cyber hygiene. Everyone can join the Digital Literacy Week: citizens, businesses, NGOs, and educational institutions. To do so, download the Open Pack with simple steps to improve digital skills and share them on social media.
“Digital literacy is a basic skill for anyone who wants to be successful in the modern world. Since the foundation of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, we have set a goal to cover 6 million Ukrainians with basic digital skills. We achieved this goal in a few years thanks to the Diia.Osvita platform,” says Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology.
According to him, more than 60% of Ukrainians now have basic and advanced digital skills. He added that it is equally important to improve digital security knowledge in order to enjoy all the benefits of technology.
What you can get during a Digital Literacy Week
On Diia.Osvita’s social media pages you will find
- tips on how to use gadgets and the Internet safely and with maximum benefits
- interactive activities about digital literacy;
- guides on the use of online services available for users of all ages – from teenagers to the elderly.
Enhancing cybersecurity
“We live in a time when digital literacy is one of the key components of success and security in everyone’s life. Diia.Osvita is a free and accessible platform for up-to-date knowledge and practical skills in technology, updated in 2023 thanks to the significant support of Google.org and the Eastern Europe Foundation,” said Valeria Ionan, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation for European Integration.
According to her, the platform currently has more than 2.3 million users and over 200 educational series in the form of educational content, simulations, tests to determine digital or entrepreneurial skills, and career guidance.
Ms. Ionan believes that the Digital Literacy Week with Diia.Osvita is an opportunity for everyone to find new information that will help improve digital skills and knowledge of cyber hygiene.
Therefore, the next 7 days will be held under the slogan “Activate Your Safety”. Protect yourself and your loved ones in the digital world during the war with the help of educational series created with the support of the USAID Cybersecurity of Ukraine’s Critical Infrastructure Project:
- “Cyber Hygiene for Youth”
- “Basic knowledge of cyber hygiene”
- “Cyber hygiene: how to protect yourself from phishing
- “Personal cyber hygiene”.
- and test yourself in two simulations and a quick Cybergram test.
Follow Diia.Osvita on social media during the Digital Literacy Week, share campaign materials, and become ambassadors of digital skills and cyber hygiene.
