The GSMChina team has managed to uncover some key details about the device, including the use of Qualcomm’s powerful SM8635 SOC.
The POCO F5 boasts a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SOC, essentially an updated SM8475, which was the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Known for its exceptional gaming experience and advanced image processing capabilities, the SM8475 left users impressed. The POCO F6 is expected to take it one step further by incorporating the yet-to-be officially announced SM8635 SOC. The SM8635 is expected to be officially unveiled on March 18, and the POCO F6 series is expected to launch in April.
The leak indicates that the POCO F6 has left its mark on the IMEI database, revealing model numbers “24069PC21G” for the global version and “24069PC21I” for the Indian version. The POCO F6 is expected to be available in various regions, with the exception of Japan. In an interesting twist, the Redmi Note 13 Turbo is expected to precede the release of the POCO F6, which will be introduced in the Chinese market under the model number “24069RA21C”. It is speculated that POCO F6 is a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 13 Turbo.
In addition, it became known that the codename of POCO F6 is “Peridot”. Inspired by the yellow ruby, also known as zeberset, peridot is a type of olivine mineral with the intriguing alternative name of “snake stone”. This naming tradition echoes the Redmi Note series devices, which are typically named after gemstones.
While it is expected that POCO F6 will be officially unveiled in April, it is worth noting that these launch dates are not official information, but only estimates provided by industry insiders. The Redmi Note 13 Turbo is expected to debut in March, which will pave the way for the POCO F6 presentation.
