Xiaomi is working on a Mix Fold 4 smartphone, after debuting the Mix Fold 3 foldable smartphone in August 2023. Until now, reports have revealed some key details about the device, such as the chipset on board, as well as the camera configuration. Now, thanks to a DCS source, additional information about the foldable smartphone has emerged.
According to a report on Weibo (via @ZionsAnvin), the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 will come with a stronger body and hinge, which will increase its lifespan. The new hinge will also reduce the number of folds on the folding screen. Internally, it will have 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. We know from previous reports that it will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
The battery on board will have a capacity of 5000 mAh+, as well as 100W fast charging. For comparison, the Mix Fold 3 has a 4800 mAh battery with 67W fast charging, so these upgrades will be quite significant. The insider also claims that the device will be equipped with a 50-megapixel main camera, a new periscope lens, and other cameras. Earlier it was reported that satellite communication will allow two-way communication.
In addition, the Mix Fold 4 will reportedly have an IP address, which the Mix Fold 3 did not have. It will also have a special linear motor on the X-axis to improve the tactile experience and will weigh between 220 and 240 g, probably depending on the material used for the back panel.
The last two Mix Fold smartphones from Xiaomi were released in August, so it’s likely that Mix Fold 4 could also debut around the same time. More details are expected in the future, so stay tuned.
