Last night, Samsung presented the latest generation flagship smartphones of the Galaxy S24 series. The South Korean brand also surprised everyone with its first-ever smart ring. However, the company disclosed very little information about the Galaxy Ring, except for giving a brief overview of the accessory and confirming support for the Samsung Health program. Now, consumer technology analyst Avi Greengart has had the opportunity to work with Galaxy Ring prototypes. He revealed some key details of the fitness tracker that Samsung did not disclose at the presentation.
Samsung Galaxy Ring: new details emerge
Greengart says he was not allowed to photograph the Galaxy Ring prototypes that were on display at the event. He adds that Samsung’s first-ever smart ring is ridiculously light. It will be available in 13 sizes. The South Korean brand has planned three different cover options for the Galaxy Ring. Although there is no word on what they might be, we can expect ceramic and metal cases. The analyst says that the smart ring boasts impressive engineering.
Greengart reports that the Samsung Galaxy Ring will be launched at the end of this year. The price remains a mystery. Specific launch dates for the smart ring remain unknown. But it may debut at the next Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event in August, which will be dedicated to the foldable Galaxy Z smartphones and next-generation smartwatches.
Samsung claims that the Galaxy Ring is the most advanced and affordable health and wellness device available. Since it’s a smart device, we can expect it to have all the health tracking features of a smartwatch or fitness tracker.
The era of smart rings is slowly taking shape with players like Oura, Circular, Amazfit, etc. The entry of Samsung into the market could make this segment of consumer technology the hottest and most interesting.
