Xiaomi is rumored to be working on a new foldable phone. This device is expected to have a folding design and will be called Xiaomi Mix Flip. A recent post on a Chinese certification platform has revealed more details about the upcoming device. So let’s take a look.
The upcoming Mix Flip model from the Chinese tech giant was spotted on the MIIT certification platform. Looking at the online database, we see that the smartphone has a model number of 2311BPN23C. This is consistent with our previous report, which also listed a device with the same model number in the IMEI database. The latest observation in China confirms an interesting feature that could be coming to the Xiaomi Mix Flip.
The new folding phone has been registered with support for satellite communications, a popular feature that has been appearing on flagship devices lately. Unfortunately, the MIIT certificate does not reveal any other details about the device. Although a previous leak for Digital Chat Station revealed some key features of the Mix Flip. According to rumors, the new Flip phone will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.
Renders of the Mix Flip online also offered us a glimpse of its design. The rear panel houses a horizontally aligned triple camera, which is expected to include a 3x telephoto lens. A small external screen is located directly below the rear camera module. Meanwhile, in front there is a tall clamshell screen with a centered selfie camera punch. This is all the information we have at the moment, so stay tuned for more.
