Samsung may create a larger Galaxy ring for big fingers

Do you have big fingers? Feel like you’ve been left out of the smart ring revolution? The good news is that Samsung is probably working on making its Galaxy Ring available in more sizes for more people. For now, the smart ring is limited to size 13. Soon, Samsung may offer sizes 14 and 15, which will put it on par with other best-selling smart rings on the market – those with which it directly competes.

The information leak came from the depths of the Internet and was not confirmed by Samsung. But 91Mobiles and Max Jamboree were aware of the leaks, so we’re taking their word for it for now. The details about the sizes come from a leaked user manual that lists nine Galaxy Ring model numbers. Each size of the smart ring has a model number, and now “14” and “15” have been added to all the others. While no additional information is offered, the model numbers follow standard naming convention, which is why they look so believable.

The new sizes are likely to debut in January 2025. No specific date has been offered, but it could be a minor “one more thing” that Samsung will unveil at the Galaxy Unpacked event expected next month. I can see Samsung rolling out the red carpet for the Galaxy S25, then praising itself for inventing the smart ring and announcing that it’s so confident in its product that it’s releasing it in two more sizes.

While larger ring sizes will help attract an additional group of users, they will also help legitimize the Galaxy Ring against the rest of the competition. The Oura Ring, one of the other very popular smart rings that have gained traction over the past few years, is already offered in a variety of sizes, up to the 15th. It has become so popular that it helped convince health insurance companies to cover its cost as a medical benefit.

You can also purchase the Galaxy Ring with a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) if you have one. Samsung advertises this option on its online store. It can now be considered alongside all other third parties by offering more sizes. Samsung is also probably betting that you’ll want a tracking accessory that matches your smartphone brand, as using the Galaxy Ring makes sense if you’re already using Samsung Health.
