Xiaomi has officially launched its new Smart Camera 4 Pro, bringing an impressive array of features to the market at an attractive price point. Available starting today, the camera is priced at 329 yuan during its introductory period, which runs from October 12th to November 13th. Early buyers who also leave a review have a chance to win 1000 Jingdou points, with a limit of 500 redemptions.
Key Features and Connectivity
A standout feature of the Xiaomi Smart Camera 4 Pro is its integrated physical call button, enabling quick and easy calling with minimal effort. It also supports one-touch WeChat calls, along with an ‘OK’ gesture command to initiate calls. This functionality facilitates two-way communication between the camera and users’ WeChat or Mijia apps on their smartphones.
Under the hood, the camera boasts an 8-megapixel 4K sensor, delivering a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels. It is equipped with a 4P optical lens and a wide f/1.6 aperture, ensuring clear and detailed imagery. Audio quality is handled by a large-diameter BOX speaker and a noise-canceling microphone, promising clear and loud voice transmission.
Advanced AI Detection and Monitoring
The Smart Camera 4 Pro incorporates advanced AI detection capabilities for comprehensive monitoring across various scenarios:
- Elderly and Child Care: Features include baby crying detection, virtual fencing, and family guardian functions.
- Pet Monitoring: Supports pet detection and pet tracking to keep an eye on furry friends.
- Home Security: Includes human shape tracking, facial recognition, abnormal sound detection, and image anomaly detection.
Enhanced Imaging and Storage
The camera utilizes a new generation of HDR technology, capable of rendering clear and transparent images even in strong backlight conditions. Its high-sensitivity sensor enables full-color imaging in low-light environments, while 10 built-in 940nm infrared fill lights provide a night vision range of up to 10 meters without red glare.
For storage, the camera supports time-lapse photography in 4K quality, allowing users to capture and create ultra-clear Vlogs of anything from blooming flowers to pet antics. It also features an “All-day Ultra-Save Recording” mode. This mode intelligently switches to high-frame recording when an event is detected, ensuring complete footage, and maintains a low frame rate during inactive periods to conserve storage space. Users can choose from cloud storage, microSD cards, or NAS for their recordings.
Flexible Pan-Tilt and Smart Integration
The dual-motor pan-tilt system allows for 360° horizontal and 106° vertical rotation, supporting 360° panoramic cruises, timed cruises, and fixed-point cruises for specific areas. It is also compatible with inverted installation, offering greater flexibility in placement.
Integration with the Xiaomi ecosystem is seamless, thanks to Xiaomi’s澎湃智联 (Pengpai Zhilian) technology. This allows the camera to link with other Mijia smart devices. Furthermore, footage can be viewed on multiple terminals, including Xiaomi phones, tablets, TVs, and even cars. Device sharing with family members is also supported.
Connectivity and Privacy
In terms of network connectivity, the camera supports dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (2.4GHz + 5GHz), offering a 60% increase in transmission rate and improved anti-interference compared to Wi-Fi 4, ensuring smoother remote viewing. It also includes Bluetooth pairing, one-click network switching, and a backup Wi-Fi function.
Privacy is a key consideration, with the device having passed Samsung-level network security certification. It features a Mijia security chip with EAL 5+ certification and provides multiple layers of protection, including privacy zone protection, physical lens cover, local AI computing, and encrypted data transmission.
