Xiaomi debuted its first electric car, the SU7, in December last year. Although the company had already unveiled the car’s features and specifications back then, sales have not yet begun, and Xiaomi has not shared any details on pricing either. However, it looks like we won’t have to wait long to find out.
Today, Xiaomi officially announced that it will launch the Xiaomi SU7 in China on March 28. The company made the announcement via a post on Weibo, where it also announced that interested buyers will have the opportunity to try out the Xiaomi SU7 starting March 25.
The car has already been ordered in China, with 59 stores in 29 Chinese cities participating.
The Xiaomi SU7 is a C-segment coupe with a sporty design that comes in two variants – regular and maximum equipment.
The Max, as its name suggests, has all the most advanced features you would expect from a modern electric vehicle. It has a two-motor all-wheel drive system that allows the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 2.78 seconds. Its top speed is also impressive at 265 km/h.
This does not mean that the regular version is any less attractive. It has a single-engine rear-wheel drive and accelerates to 100 km/h in 5.28 seconds.
Inside, Xiaomi’s smart cockpit features a five-screen system powered by the Snapdragon 8295 chip. SU7 also has a 16.1-inch main screen with a 3K resolution and support for CarPlay and AirPlay.
The interior is decorated with Nappa sport leather seats, ambient lighting, and a large 5.35-square-meter glass roof. It is also quite well equipped with a 25-speaker audio system with Dolby Atmos support.
The car can also seamlessly interact with home IoT devices Xiaomi thanks to HyperOS support.
