Soon you’ll be able to get into your favorite games even faster thanks to an updated Xbox home screen. According to Microsoft, Xbox Insiders will get three new customization options later this week that will make their dashboard more personalized. As detailed by Xbox Wire, certain Xbox players will have the opportunity to cut through the clutter and put their favorite games at the top of the list.
The first major change allows you to pin up to three of your favorite games or apps to your recently played list. Pinning them means they’ll stay at the top of the list even when you launch other apps from time to time. Additionally, your Xbox will have the ability to “Hide System Apps,” which should reduce clutter and hide less important shortcuts. To further streamline the home screen, Xbox will be introducing a “Reduce Tiles” feature that will allow you to set the number of visible tiles in your list of recently opened games and apps. With these new features, Xbox players will experience a cleaner homepage with a more vibrant dynamic background.
“We’ve heard from many of you that the Home page needs to feel more like your space,” wrote Eden Marie, Principal Software Engineer, Xbox Experiences, on the Xbox blog. “Whether it’s displaying your favorite games, hiding what you’re not using, or simply reducing the overcrowding of Home, this update is a direct response to that feedback.”
According to Microsoft, these features will first appear on Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha consoles. However, the company is still finalizing the Reduce Tiles feature, adding that it is “coming soon.” If only there was a way to hide these ads on the home screen.
