Vodafone Ukraine has announced a significant expansion of its test 5G network in Lviv, effectively doubling the coverage area and bringing high‑speed mobile internet to eight key districts of the city.

The operator reports that the new generation connection now extends far beyond the historic city centre, covering a larger part of the central, western and north‑western districts. Thanks to the deployment of additional base stations, fast mobile internet is available to residents and visitors in eight key areas where they live, work and study.
New Locations of 5G Coverage in Lviv
The fresh wave of coverage includes important transport hubs, residential arrays and business districts. Specifically, 5G technology is now available at the following locations:
- Suburban railway station: the area around the Privozhalnyi market and the station;
- Levantivka: separate residential quarters of the micro‑district;
- Industrial‑residential contour: the vicinity of Okruzhnaya and Syyavo streets;
- Historic‑residential areas: Klepariv and Podzamche;
- Frankivsk district: including key transport arteries;
- Southern part of the city: Naukovaya, Volodymyr Veliky streets and adjacent territories;
- Lychakiv district: separate residential and administrative quarters.
Technical Specifications and Geography of 5G Testing
Vodafone’s 5G technology operates in a trial‑industrial mode (open testing). The network is built using telecommunications equipment from the European vendor Nokia, with data transmission carried out in the key 5G band of 3500 MHz (n78).
By the end of 2026 Vodafone plans to further extend 5G coverage in Lviv to increase network density and capacity.

- SIM‑card: no replacement is required if the current USIM already supports 4G/LTE;
- Coverage zone: the device automatically switches to the 5G network when a signal is present.
Traffic in the 5G network is billed under the standard conditions of the subscriber’s current tariff plan, with no extra charges.
