Sony has recently updated its official App Creator app, and now the ZV-E10 II vlogging camera has appeared on the list, confirming its existence. Last week, SonyAlphaRumors claimed that the camera would be unveiled on July 10. Now, the outlet has also published an official teaser, which indicates that a new ZV camera is on the way.
According to Andrea Pizzini, the ZV-E10 II will replace the ZV-E10’s 1020 mAh battery with a more powerful 2280 mAh NP-FZ100. This is the same battery used in the popular A6700 model, effectively doubling the shooting time for vloggers on the go.
The larger battery size has the added benefit of a larger grip. This solves a common problem with the original ZV-E10, which some users found difficult to hold for long periods of time. The larger handle of the ZV-E10 II promises a more secure and stable grip.
Although official specifications remain under wraps, rumors suggest that the ZV-E10 II will feature a 26-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, similar to the one found in the A6700. This upgrade promises improved image quality and overall performance compared to the previous generation. In addition, Sony may introduce AI features specifically designed for vloggers. This could lead to improved autofocusing, especially when switching between the subject and the vlogger.
Sony is also expected to release a new E-mount 16-50mm F/3.5-5.6 OSS II zoom lens alongside the camera. This versatile lens is designed specifically for videographers, offering a wide zoom range that is ideal for capturing a variety of shots, from sweeping landscapes to detailed close-ups. The Optical SteadyShot (OSS) feature promises smooth, shake-free shooting, which is especially important for vloggers who are constantly on the move.
Sony will also release a new high-end FE 85mm F/1.4 GM II lens, although the release date seems less certain.
