OnePlus is reportedly working on its flagship OnePlus Pad 2 tablet. In a recent X post from insider Max Jambor, the tablet’s launch timeframe was revealed. A new update from the brand reveals the chipset on which the device will run.
OnePlus Pad 2 is equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (rumored)
According to Jambor, OnePlus Pad 2 will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. So far, none of the brands has released a tablet based on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. There is speculation that Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro may also be equipped with the same chipset.
The OnePlus Pad, which debuted as the first OnePlus tablet last year, was a rebranded version of the Oppo Pad 2. Recent reports claim that Oppo may soon launch the Oppo Pad 3 with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip on board in China. It is possible that it will debut alongside the Reno 12 series in May. On the global market, the same device will most likely be rebranded as OnePlus Pad 2.
Unfortunately, the rumors do not provide any other details about the OnePlus Pad 3 yet. It is only known that it may be presented in the second half of the year.
The inclusion of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset suggests that OnePlus Pad 2 may be more expensive than its predecessor. The OnePlus Pad with the Dimensity 9000 processor cost 499 euros in Europe.
