As expected, OnePlus announced the Ace 3V smartphone in China today. It replaces last year’s Ace 2V model. Compared to its predecessor, the latest product has received several updates. The Ace 3V is still a stripped-down version of the more premium Ace 3 (review). Read on to find out what the smartphone offers out of the box.
The OnePlus Ace 3V has a different design compared to its predecessor. It has a flat bezel and retains the three-step notification slider on the left and the power and volume buttons on the right. On the back is a pill-shaped camera module with a vertical position. The phone is also IP65-rated for dust and splash resistance.
On the front, OnePlus Ace 3V has a tiny flat OLED display with a centered notch integrated with a fingerprint scanner. The screen has a 6.7-inch diagonal with a 1.5K resolution, 2160 Hz PWM and 120 Hz refresh rate. It also offers a peak brightness of 2150 nits and Rain Touch technology for using the phone with wet hands.
In the imaging department, OnePlus Ace 3V has a dual rear camera setup. It consists of a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 main sensor with OIS and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. The front camera has a resolution of 16 megapixels.
Under the hood, the OnePlus Ace 3V is the first phone with a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor and various AI features on board. It has up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. It uses the same aerospace-grade VC cooling system as the OnePlus 12 series to dissipate heat. The smartphone is powered by a 5500 mAh battery with 100W fast charging support. In terms of software, the device comes with the ColorOS 14 operating system based on Android 14 out of the box. It is confirmed that it will receive three years of OS updates and four years of security patches.
Connectivity features of the OnePlus Ace 3V include a dual gaming antenna, WiFi, NFC, IR control and more.
The OnePlus Ace 3V starts at CNY1,999 (~$277) for the base 12GB + 256GB variant, while the 12GB + 512GB variant costs CNY2,299 (~$319). The top-end 16GB + 512GB configuration costs CNY 2,599 (~$361). The smartphone is available in Magic Purple Silver and Titanium Air Gray colors.
