The Nubia Z60 Ultra Photographer Edition was launched in China at the end of March 2024. Now the smartphone is making its way to the global market. The global version comes with a black vegan leather finish.
This photography-oriented phone has the same internal stuffing as the regular Nubia Z60 Ultra (review), which was launched late last year in China.
The camera system of this phone includes a 35-millimeter primary lens that sits in front of a Sony IMX800 sensor with a 1/1.49″ 54MP aperture (effective resolution of 50MP) and f/1.59 aperture. In addition, the camera system includes an 85mm telephoto lens module located above the 64-megapixel sensor, and another 18mm (ultra-wide-angle) lens with f/1.8 aperture and 50-megapixel sensor. It is noteworthy that all of these cameras have OIS stabilization. For selfies, the phone offers a 12-megapixel camera below the display.
Speaking of the display, it’s a massive 6.9-inch 1.5K (1116 x 2480) BOE Q9+ 120Hz AMOLED. It reaches 1500 nits of peak brightness, which is bright but not the brightest. It comes with 2160Hz PWM brightness control.
The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and runs MyOS 14 based on Android 14. The global version of the phone comes with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. Notably, the Chinese variant offers 8GB/16GB/24GB and 256GB/512GB/1TB storage options.
Unlike most other flagships, it has a massive 6000 mAh battery and also offers a fairly fast 80W charging speed. Unfortunately, this phone does not support wireless charging.
