Today, Netflix launched its Moments mobile feature. This feature allows users to save and share scenes from Netflix content that they like (or dislike). It’s launched globally on iOS today and will be coming to Android in the coming weeks.

The new Moments button will now be next to the Speed, Episodes, Audio & Subtitles, and Next Episode buttons at the bottom of the screen. All you have to do is click the Moments button when the scene you want to save starts. This will automatically save the scene to your My Netflix tab. To share it, go to the tab, click Share, and select the platform of your choice. By default, you can share to Instagram, WhatsApp, Snapchat, and Messenger, and use the Copy Link option to share to apps that aren’t listed.

Your moments will be stored in the My Netflix tab for as long as you want, so you can also use it as a library of your favorite moments. Plus, the next time you play an episode or movie, it will start from the scene you’ve bookmarked.

Moments is currently available exclusively for iOS and (in a few weeks) for Android. There is no information yet about its launch for browsers or TVs. However, Tudum, the official Netflix companion site, states: “We hope that the Moments feature will be expanded in the future,” which most likely means it will be available soon for these platforms.

It looks like Netflix is finally starting to work on justifying its endless price hikes. Last week, the company announced that it will finally start focusing on quality rather than quantity of content. It plans to reduce its annual production to 30 films from 50 per year to focus on wise allocation of budget, time, and effort. “Moments” is more than just a feature that the streaming platform is launching for viewers out of the goodness of its heart. The ultimate goal is to attract more customers, which will be facilitated by sharing favorite scenes from TV shows and movies between viewers.
