Microsoft has created for Xbox own chatbot with AI

Microsoft is making a big leap in simplifying Xbox support by launching an AI-powered chatbot called the Xbox Virtual Support Agent. This chatbot, which is not yet branded as Copilot, is Microsoft’s latest move to integrate artificial intelligence into the Xbox platform. The catch is that at the time of writing, only Xbox insiders in the US had access to it.

According to Microsoft, this virtual support agent can answer questions about Xbox consoles and game support, offering Xbox players a faster way to find solutions to more common problems without having to wait for human assistance.

Xbox Insiders can find this feature on the Contact Us page, where they will need to sign in to their Xbox Insider program account to access the bot.

To use the virtual support agent, players simply need to click the “Ask a Question” button. After that, the chatbot will launch in a new browser window, where users will be able to ask a question via text or voice. If the chatbot is unable to provide an answer, users can contact a live support agent during Xbox support hours.

Microsoft emphasized the importance of feedback, encouraging Xbox insiders to provide information about their experience with the virtual support agent. The information gained from this trial will be used to improve the chatbot ahead of a wider rollout, even if the official timeline remains unclear at the moment.

The launch is in line with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella’s vision of integrating artificial intelligence across all Microsoft divisions. So far, Xbox has focused mainly on providing tools for developers. However, the virtual support agent indicates that Microsoft is ready to introduce artificial intelligence directly into the interaction with Xbox users.

The company recently released a new console called PlayStation 5 Pro with AI scaling capabilities to compete with Sony. The PS5 Pro marked the debut of Sony’s PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution technology, which is said to add more detail and clarity to games on the fly using artificial intelligence.
