Since the beginning of the war, lifecell has expanded 4G coverage to 2,342 more settlements with a population of almost 2 million people. The mobile operator’s team built and modernized a total of 5466 base stations across Ukraine and restored more than 1000 after the destruction.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the lifecell team has continued to build new base stations, modernize and expand the capacity of existing ones. Most of them have been built in Kyiv, Chernivtsi, Volyn, Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv regions – the parts of the country where many Ukrainians were forced to move to escape the war.

Despite the constant threat of shelling from the Russian Federation, the operator also continued to build its network in Dnipropetrovs’k, Odesa, Chernihiv, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Sumy and Zaporizhzhia regions.

The operator continued to expand its network capacity and bandwidth and carried out work at 5,466 base stations across Ukraine to enable as many subscribers as possible to use high-speed mobile Internet and voice calls simultaneously. As a result, another 2,342 settlements with a population of almost 2 million people have gained access to high-speed mobile Internet during the full-scale invasion.

In 2022, the operator also built 303 km of new fiber-optic lines and restored 317 km, and in 2023 it built 429 km and restored 120 km of fiber-optic lines.

In the frontline regions (Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson), the operator’s equipment is regularly damaged by shelling, and repair teams have to go out and repair it to maintain communication in these regions. As of January 2024, lifecell’s repair crews have made more than 166 thousand visits to repair equipment due to shelling and blackouts during the great war.

During the great war, the operator’s team restored more than 1,000 base stations that were completely or partially destroyed by the enemy. Thanks to the efforts of lifecell technicians and partners, 93.6% of the operator’s network is currently operational.

As of the end of 2023, almost 17 thousand cities and villages of Ukraine with a population of more than 31.5 million people have 4G from lifecell. The lifecell team continues to work to provide stable communication for Ukrainians and expand coverage.
