Kyivstar, Ukraine’s largest telecom operator, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Amazon Web Services (AWS), the world’s leading cloud services provider.
Migration to AWS
As part of the agreement, the companies will jointly discuss, evaluate and identify opportunities for cooperation on a number of initiatives, including:
- transfer of Kyivstar’s data management platform (DMP) to AWS. This will contribute to the accumulation of best practices and expertise for future development in Ukraine;
- creating a specialized team at Kyivstar with experience in AWS technology and a focus on data processing and artificial intelligence, as well as cloud infrastructure services.

Services based on AWS technologies
The next stage of cooperation will be the provision of a wide range of services based on AWS technologies to Kyivstar customers:
- Analytics in the AWS cloud. Kyivstar will offer AWS solutions for data processing and analysis, reporting and modeling.
- Infrastructure migration to the cloud Kyivstar will help customers migrate their infrastructure to AWS, which will allow them to achieve greater efficiency and scalability of their IT infrastructure.
- Security. Ensure data security and protection against cyber threats in AWS.

To implement such a large-scale and complex project, Kyivstar will create a dedicated team of AWS technology experts and expand it with new data specialists. The practical experience and knowledge gained during the migration of the company’s data platform will become a solid foundation for providing professional services to customers in Ukraine and abroad.
