iQOO Z9 Turbo debuts in China with Snapdragon 8s Gen 3

iQOO Z9 Turbo is the top model in the Z9 smartphone series, which was announced today in China. The latest model has flagship mid-range characteristics. The Z9 Turbo is also quite different from its siblings. Read on to learn more about the device.

iQOO Z9 Turbo features the same 6.72-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution, 4500 nits peak brightness, and 144Hz refresh rate as the standard model. It has an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The design of the phone is also similar to its siblings: a flat bezel and a square camera island, like the iQOO 12. The device is protected against dust and water according to the IP64 standard, which allows it to be used in wet conditions.

As for the optics, iQOO Z9 Turbo has a dual rear camera with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 main sensor with OIS support and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. The 16-megapixel front camera is equipped with a front-facing sensor for taking selfies.

Inside the iQOO Z9 Turbo is a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor. It has up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM, as well as 16 GB of virtual memory. Up to 512 GB of UFS 4 storage is provided for data storage. The device is equipped with a large 6K VC liquid cooling system for heat dissipation. The phone is powered by a 6,000 mAh battery with support for 80W wired charging and 7.5W reverse wired charging. It comes with Android 14 with OriginOS 4 overlay.

The iQOO Z9 Turbo has an X-Axis Linear motor, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 and a USB-C port.

The starting price of the iQOO Z9 Turbo is CNY 1,999 (~$275) for the base 12GB + 256GB version, and the 12GB + 512GB version costs CNY 2,399 (~$331). The 16 GB + 256 GB and 16 GB + 512 GB configurations cost 2,299 yuan (~$317) and 2,599 yuan (~$358), respectively.
