Intel launches i9-14900KS processor with a record-breaking 6.2 GHz clock speed

Today, gamers and Intel fans have an additional reason to celebrate. Intel has unveiled the i9-14900KS, the crown jewel of its 14th generation desktop processor family. This unlocked beast came through the gates rocking and boasts a record-breaking turbo frequency of up to 6.2GHz. It doesn’t just set new records, it pushes the boundaries of desktop performance. The launch date of the processor was previously revealed in a VideoCardz report.

The processor supports up to 192 GB of DDR5 memory and is compatible with Z790 and Z690 motherboards

“This processor showcases the raw power of our 14th Generation processor lineup,” said Roger Chandler, Intel. “Gamers and creators can expect a whole new level of performance that will take them to the next level.”

The i9-14900KS processor features 24 cores (8 performance-oriented and 16 efficient), 32 threads, and 36MB of Intel Smart Cache. Official benchmarks claim a 15% jump in gaming performance compared to the previous generation, and content creators will experience significant efficiency gains in demanding workflows such as 3D rendering.

The i9-14900KS boasts a flagship set of features: a record-breaking 6.2GHz turbo frequency with Thermal Velocity Boost, 24 cores, 32 threads, 150W base power, 36MB Intel Smart Cache, and 20 PCIe lanes (16 of which are PCIe 5.0). Gamers can look forward to an added benefit with Intel Gaming Optimizer (APO), which delivers up to 11% performance gains in supported games (currently 14 games). It also supports up to 192GB of DDR5 memory and is compatible with Z790 and Z690 motherboards.

The i9-14900KS will be priced at $689 and will be available at retail or pre-integrated into high-performance systems from Intel and its partners.
