Google improves Gmail search with AI

To improve your chances of finding the email you’re looking for, Google is rolling out an optional update to Gmail’s AI-powered search feature.

According to a post published today on The Keyword blog, Google searches will no longer return results in chronological order based on keywords alone, but will take into account other criteria, including “recency, most clicked emails, and frequent contacts.” “With this update, the emails you’re looking for are much more likely to be at the top of your search results, saving you valuable time and helping you find the information you need more easily,” the statement said.

The new “most relevant” search results feature is now rolling out to users worldwide with personal Google accounts and will be available when accessing Gmail through a web browser or through the Google Gmail apps for Android and iOS. However, according to Google, this feature will not replace Gmail’s previous approach to finding emails. Instead, you’ll be able to toggle between chronological keyword results and a new “most relevant” option.
