Deepal Auto has announced a new addition to its S05 model: a smart ecosystem dashboard screen. This new feature, a 4.39-inch OLED display, aims to provide drivers with clear and accessible driving information, complementing the vehicle’s existing AR-HUD (Augmented Reality Head-Up Display).
Deepal S05: A Refined Driving Experience
The Deepal S05, which initially launched in August, now offers this integrated smart ecosystem dashboard screen as an option. Previously, the vehicle relied solely on its AR-HUD for projecting crucial driving data. The new OLED screen ensures that essential information is readily visible at a glance, enhancing driver convenience and focus.
Launched with five distinct models, the Deepal S05 is priced between 119,900 and 151,900 yuan, with a limited-time promotional price ranging from 115,900 to 144,900 yuan. The interior design follows a ‘floating starship’ concept, available in three color schemes: Nebula Purple, Hotwave Orange, and Star Rock Gray. The cabin features a 256-color floating wrap-around ambient lighting system and premium wood-grain textured decorative panels.
In a move away from traditional instrument clusters, the Deepal S05 projects driving information through its HUD. The vehicle’s infotainment system has been upgraded to DEEPAL OS 4.2, incorporating enhanced features such as seamless smartphone integration and comprehensive cabin scene modes. Drivers will also appreciate the multifunction three-spoke steering wheel, wireless phone charging, front dual cup holders, and an electronic column shifter.
Powertrain Options for Diverse Needs
The Deepal S05 continues to offer both pure electric and extended-range electric (EREV) powertrains, catering to a variety of consumer preferences and driving needs.
Pure Electric Variant
The pure electric version is equipped with a rear-mounted single motor generating a maximum power of 272 horsepower. It is available with two battery capacities: a 56.12kWh option providing a CLTC range of 520km, and a larger 68.82kWh battery delivering a CLTC range of 620km.
Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) Variant
The EREV model combines a 1.5L engine (producing 98 horsepower) with an electric motor (delivering 238 horsepower). This variant features a 28.39kWh battery, offering a pure electric range of 215km and an impressive comprehensive range of 1,310km on a full charge and full tank.
