The Cabinet of Ministers has empowered Volodymyr Smoliar, the first deputy chairman of the State Communications Administration, to act as the chairman of the administration.

Ukrainian News learned this from governmental resolution No.266 dated February 24.

Volodymyr Smoliar has been the first deputy chairman of the State Communications Administration since July 2009.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Cabinet of Ministers on February 24 dismissed Mykola Honchar from the post of deputy minister of transport and communications and head of the State Communications Administration.

Mykola Honchar was dismissed on the findings of an internal investigation into the dismissal of Heorhii Dzekon from the post of the board chairman of Ukrtelecom.

Honchar claimed in the morning, February 22, that the supervisory board had appointed Oleh Kopiika as Ukrtelecom’s acting board chairman to replace Heorhii Dzekon.
Dzekon said the decision of the supervisory board was falsified. Dzekon intends to appeal to the General Prosecutor’s office against the supervisory board’s fraud decision.

Three members of the supervisory board of the Ukrtelecom company — Serhii Bukhalenkov, Mykola Burmak and Ihor Ruban — withdrew their signatures in the minutes of the meeting on Heorhii Dzekon’s dismissal.
