At CES 2024, Asus unveiled the ROG Centra Truly Wireless Speednova gaming headphones, which were promised to be released in the first quarter of 2024. Now these headphones have made their debut in China under the name ASUS ROG TWS Speednova.
Specifications of the Asus ROG TWS Speednova:
Compared to its predecessor, the key change here is the integration of a 2.4 GHz connection (Speednova wireless technology) along with standard Bluetooth. This approach, using a USB-C wireless receiver, aims to provide very low latency, which is important for gaming.
The device is designed to support high-quality audio, using a 2.4 GHz connection to transmit 24-bit audio at 96 kHz using the LC3+ codec. It includes Dirac Opteo technology that helps to improve sound quality with DSP. An interesting feature of this model is its “hybrid multi-point” function, which allows you to connect via Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz simultaneously.
ASUS ROG TWS Speednova also features Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which adjusts noise levels based on the shape of the user’s ear canal and the tightness of the headphone fit. It can offer up to 31 dB of noise cancellation. It also includes an “Auto Mode” that adjusts noise cancellation and ambient sound depending on the environment, with different settings for outdoors, commuting, and home.
In terms of audio input, the headphones use a combination of air and bone conduction microphones to better isolate the user’s voice from ambient noise. The total battery life of ASUS ROG TWS Speednova is 46 hours in Bluetooth mode and 36 hours in 2.4 GHz connection mode. The headphones feature customizable ASUS Aura RGB lighting and are available in black and white colors. They retain features such as wireless charging and IPX4 water protection.
Price and availability
The headphones are currently available for pre-order in China for RMB 1,499 (USD 208), and will be available internationally in the near future.
