The A4Tech FG15CS Air2 is an interesting example of a wireless computer mouse with a symmetrical design that can be turned into a multimedia controller. This model is available in several colors, and in addition to the above, it offers a built-in battery, extremely quiet buttons, and much more. Let’s find out how well all this is combined and what advantages the user gets when working in controller mode in this review.

Box

The box and shipping kit

But let’s take everything in turn. The user will receive A4Tech FG15CS Air2 in a small box made of cardboard and a blister. The latter is here in the form of a small window, which gives the user the opportunity to get acquainted with the design and form factor of the product without having to take it out of the box. However, in addition to the blister, the walls of the package are also interesting for a lot of various data, so whatever fate befalls the box after unpacking, I advise you to spend some time studying the aforementioned “array”.

The manipulator itself is placed inside the box on a reliable blister seal. Along with it, the user will find a nano-receiver, a USB/USB Type C cable for recharging, and documentation.

Design, materials and build quality

The first thing to note in favor of the A4Tech FG15CS Air2 is the symmetrical design of the case, which means that the product is ideal for both right- and left-handed users. Second, there are several color options. In addition to my favorite white, we also have gray, black, and for those who want a PINK style (if I may say so in reference to such rodents) – yellow. And by the way, despite my love for white mice, I wrote this review in the company of a yellow “tailless” mouse.

The third benefit is weight. Compared to my A4Tech FG10, the A4Tech FG15CS Air2 is absolutely invisible to the user’s hand, and for me this is really cool; there is no question of fatigue, even after prolonged work with the “rodent”.

The fourth is the unusually quiet keystroke, which can’t even be compared to the A4Tech FG10 mentioned above. You can work even if someone is sleeping next to you – you won’t wake anyone up with this click, I was able to check.

The case of the A4Tech FG15CS Air2 is made entirely of plastic, which is the “secret” of its lightness. The wheel is rubber-rimmed and there are Teflon legs around the perimeter of the lower part. The latter ensure a better gliding of the manipulator on almost any surface.

I have no questions, complaints, or suggestions regarding the quality of workmanship – the body of the product is assembled with high quality and reliability. The materials used did not disappoint me personally, and therefore the final score in this section is the highest among the possible; for all of the above, the model is worthy of attention.

A4Tech FG15CS Air2 Ergonomics – Key Features

In the A4Tech FG15CS Air2, not only are the right/left buttons silent, but the onboard scroll wheel also has a silent scroll and a silent click. These are all nice things, of course. Behind the wheel, there is a small groove where your finger rests comfortably while working with the mouse. By the way, this groove is one of several shiny elements on the case. And I have to say that this element “fits in” with the overall decor very well.

Around the perimeter of the bottom panel are the aforementioned nylon legs. In the center is a sensor. In addition, we have a power switch, a case for placing the receiver (convenient for transportation), and several stickers with technical data and a power sensor.

Finally, there’s a Type-C port on the front for charging the built-in battery.

Autonomy and charging features

And here’s a warning from the manufacturer about the charging source of the A4Tech FG15CS Air2 battery – it should not exceed 5V! It is worth considering.

In general, for 2 weeks of use, I have not discharged the existing charge level “out of the box”, so although intermediate, some conclusions can already be drawn.

Features of the A4Tech FG15CS Air2 mouse

First, let’s talk about how to enable this feature. To do this, lift the mouse in the air, then press and hold the right and left buttons simultaneously for up to 5 seconds.

As a result of these manipulations, you have a multimedia controller with the following capabilities:

  • pressing the left button for 3 seconds – activates the sleep mode;
  • pressing the right button – play/pause;
  • the capture button – opens the browser;
  • manipulating the scroll wheel – adjusts the volume.

As a result, we have an interesting, let’s say, bonus functionality that is definitely not superfluous here. Moreover, all of the above functions are absolutely correct, without any exception.

Expert opinions

The result is a remarkable wireless mouse with silent operation, a symmetrical and extremely light design, and a very interesting Air Mouse function. Yes, I can’t give you the final word on battery life yet, but the results I’ve obtained are hardly the maximum an A4Tech FG15CS Air2 user can hope for. By the way, I’d advise you to take a look at the model in the yellow case first – I’m already thinking about switching.
