NetEase’s popular MMORPG, ‘Justice: New World’ (逆水寒：新世界), is gearing up for its next major content update. The game’s official channels announced that the 4.2 expansion, titled “Miao Jiang Gu Shi” (苗疆蛊事 – roughly translating to ‘Tales of the Miao Border’), is set to launch on October 30th. Alongside this new chapter, a fresh season, “Yue Ling Yao Ge” (月岭瑶歌), will also commence in October.
To celebrate the ongoing success and player engagement, the developers shared some impressive statistics from the 4.1 update. The first limited-time playable character, Zhang Qiling (张起灵), has seen its avatar used over 26 million times. In the “Hanhai Duozhen – Wugeng City” (瀚海夺珍-无更市) gameplay mode, players using Zhang Qiling’s avatar have collectively extracted a staggering 178.36 billion in-game currency (Jiaozi). This sum, if converted to RMB, would be enough for one person to travel around the world approximately 68 million times.
The competitive spirit within the game is also highlighted by the “Glutton King Competition.” A player named Bo Xiaoluo (菠小萝) from Pineapple Island emerged victorious, consuming a colossal 587,500 tons of food, solidifying their position as the top eater in the game’s world. Furthermore, players from Guangdong province have collectively achieved the highest number of planting activities across all provinces, with Zhejiang province players leading in durian cultivation.
The game’s guild system is thriving, with 3.65 million new sects founded to date, fostering a vibrant environment for martial arts development. Guild leaders have conducted approximately 26.85 million disciple interviews, boasting an impressive approval rating of 96.6%, showcasing the depth of player-driven progression and community building.
In the realm of strategic card battling, the “Ni Shui Xia Qi” (逆水侠棋) S3 season, “Ming Jian Feng Liu” (名剑风流), has produced 22.44 million instances of three-star, five-cost cards. The most frequently used card in this category was “Fang Chengyi” (方承意), appearing 3.44 million times. Despite these powerful builds, 6.8% of players who managed to assemble these top-tier cards still failed to secure a victory in their matches.
As the S3 season of “Ni Shui Xia Qi” draws to a close, players can look forward to the S4 season, “Jiu Xiao Long Yin” (九霄龙吟), which officially begins on October 30th, the same day the new expansion launches.
The introduction of cross-server leagues has significantly boosted player interaction, with 15,096 cross-server matches played and a total of 1.625 million unique participants. This number is equivalent to the combined population of four Icelands, demonstrating the game’s extensive reach and collaborative gameplay features.
