Microsoft’s iconic XBOX brand is celebrating a significant milestone: 25 years of gaming innovation. To mark this momentous occasion, XBOX officially announced the ‘Designed for XBOX 25th Anniversary Collection’ on August 25th. This special collection features a range of third-party accessories, bringing together renowned brands like Razer and 8BitDo, alongside some exciting new additions.
Mobile Gaming Gets a Retro Makeover
Two prominent names in mobile gaming peripherals, GameSir and Backbone, are contributing special editions to the anniversary lineup. GameSir is introducing the X5 Lite for XBOX, a telescopic controller designed for mobile devices. This controller sports a distinctive translucent green aesthetic, a nod to classic XBOX design, and boasts official XBOX authorization as well as Apple MFi certification, ensuring broad compatibility and quality.
Backbone is also stepping up with its Backbone Pro XBOX 25th Anniversary Edition. This controller will be available in three unique colorways: frosted blue, orange, and clear. Adding an element of surprise, these Backbone controllers are being released as blind boxes, making them a collectible item for dedicated fans.
More Than Just Controllers
The celebration extends beyond mobile controllers. PowerA, a familiar name in XBOX accessories, is launching the XBOX Sling Bag. This full-sized shoulder bag is designed for gamers on the go. Its front proudly displays the ‘XBOX 25’ emblem. Inside, users will find four storage compartments, with the main compartment featuring a movable divider and a protective sleeve for joysticks, safeguarding controllers during transport. The bag also includes an integrated port for cable management, a breathable back panel for comfort, an adjustable shoulder strap, and elasticated web pockets for additional storage.
The ‘Designed for XBOX 25th Anniversary Collection’ aims to cater to a wide range of XBOX enthusiasts, from dedicated PC and console players to mobile gamers and those who appreciate stylish, functional accessories. The inclusion of these diverse products highlights the enduring legacy and broad appeal of the XBOX platform over the past quarter-century.
Further details on pricing and availability for each item in the collection are expected to be announced soon. This collection serves as a testament to XBOX’s significant impact on the gaming industry and its commitment to providing high-quality peripherals for its diverse player base.
