8BitDo has rolled out its latest gaming accessory, the Ultimate 3C+ wireless controller. Positioned as a “youth version,” this new controller boasts a force-adjustable TMR joystick, often referred to as the “Force Ring,” and features built-in vibration motors in both the grips and triggers for enhanced immersion.
Key Features and Design
The Ultimate 3C+ controller is equipped with dual-mode linear/tactile triggers, allowing players to switch between different response types. It also includes R4 & L4 shoulder buttons and PR & PL lockable back buttons, offering expanded control options. The D-Pad is designed to provide precise tactile feedback, ensuring accuracy in directional inputs.
Weighing 240.5g, the controller sports a wider grip angle, which 8BitDo claims enhances overall handling comfort. For added value, the package includes a cardboard DIY controller stand, enabling users to prop up their controller when not in use.
Connectivity and Performance
In terms of connectivity, the Ultimate 3C+ supports three modes, including 8Speed wireless technology. This technology enables a polling rate of up to 1kHz, promising low latency and responsive gameplay. Powering the device is a 500mAh battery, offering approximately 20 hours of gameplay in 2.4GHz mode and up to 32 hours via Bluetooth.
A practical design feature is the magnetic storage for the 2.4GHz receiver on the back of the controller, preventing loss and ensuring it’s always ready when needed.
Availability and Pricing
The 8BitDo Ultimate 3C+ wireless controller is available in three color options: Frost White, Stealth Black, and Avocado Green. It is priced at $39.99 USD.
