Google introduces a feature similar to AI reviews in another product: YouTube. The video-streaming platform can now show an “AI-powered search results carousel” when some YouTube Premium users in the US conduct searches related to “shopping, travel, or things to do in a particular location,” according to a blog post.
The feature is currently only available on iOS and Android for videos in English and will be available for testing until July 30, as stated on YouTube’s experiments page. In addition, only “a randomly selected number of premium account members will have access to it,” according to a YouTube support document.
YouTube is also expanding its conversational AI tool, which allows asking questions about videos to “some users who do not have a premium subscription in the United States.” This feature was first introduced in 2023.
