XPeng Motors has officially announced that its G9L model will make its debut at the Paris Motor Show, marking a significant step in its global expansion. This launch will see the G9L become available in a remarkable 64 countries and regions worldwide.
XPeng G9L: A Tech-Focused Flagship SUV
The G9L, previously launched in China on September 17th, is positioned as a premium, spacious five-seater tech flagship. It offers consumers the choice between a super range-extending system or a pure electric powertrain. In China, it was introduced with a limited-time promotional price ranging from 231,800 to 299,800 yuan.
Design and Dimensions
Available in a palette of sophisticated colors, including Provence Purple, Tuscany Green, Everest White, Fjord Gray, and Midnight Black, the G9L boasts a substantial presence. Its exterior dimensions measure 5120mm in length, 1999mm in width, and 1782mm in height. A generous 3100mm wheelbase contributes to its spacious interior, complemented by an impressive 0.605 body length-to-wheelbase ratio.
The vehicle features an innovative front and rear through-light design, incorporating 480 independent LED light beads. The rear adopts a fastback silhouette, exuding a youthful and dynamic aesthetic.
Advanced Lighting and AI Integration
A standout feature is the G9L’s use of a jointly developed, million-pixel AI projection headlamp, similar to that found in the XPeng GX. This advanced lighting system offers interactive capabilities during travel and entertainment functions when stationary. It also integrates a high-precision ADB (Adaptive Driving Beam) system with superior masking capabilities.
The ADB system achieves remarkable precision, masking light up to 1.3 million pixels, with a reach of up to 600 meters. Deeply integrated with the VLA (Variable Light Array) system, it can accurately identify and selectively mask light only for oncoming vehicles.
Intelligent Driving Capabilities
The XPeng G9L is equipped with the second generation VLA system. Notably, the G9L Max variant is the first to feature XPeng’s Turing AI intelligent driving distillation version, which has been tested and recognized as a top-tier L2 level intelligent driving system in China.
Across the entire G9L lineup, the Turing AI chip is standard. The Max, Ultra SE, and Ultra models are equipped with one, two, and three chips respectively, enabling a maximum computing power of up to 2250 TOPS (Trillion Operations Per Second). This powerful processing capability underpins the vehicle’s advanced intelligent driving features and overall performance.
The global rollout of the XPeng G9L signifies a bold move by the Chinese automaker into international markets, leveraging its technological advancements in design, AI, and intelligent driving systems to compete on a global stage.
