Xiaomi is planning to announce the Xiaomi 14 Ultra worldwide on February 25. However, the brand will first hold a special event in China on February 22 to unveil its most premium flagship phone. Yesterday, Xiaomi released several images showing the design of the device. Today, the company confirmed the details of the main, telephoto, and periscope cameras.
Xiaomi has confirmed that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will feature a 50-megapixel LYT-900 main camera. This is Sony’s second-generation inch camera sensor, which replaces the Sony IMX989 main camera that was available on the Xiaomi 13 Ultra last year. The main camera of the 14 Ultra supports variable aperture from f/1.63 to f/4.0.
When it comes to telephoto, the 14 Ultra will offer users a 50-megapixel IMX858 camera sensor with f/1.8 aperture, 75mm focal length and 3.2x optical zoom. The company also confirmed that the 14 Ultra will feature a 50-megapixel Sony IMX858 periscope telephoto camera with f/2.5 aperture, 120mm focal length and 5x optical zoom.
The company has not yet confirmed details about the 14 Ultra ultra-wide-angle lens. The device will most likely inherit the 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with macro capabilities that was used in the previous model.
In terms of other specifications, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will reportedly feature a 6.73-inch AMOLED display with a 2K 120Hz resolution, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, and a 5300mAh battery that supports 90W and 50W wired and wireless charging. The device is expected to run on Android 14 with a layer of HyperOS on top. For selfies, the device is likely to feature a 32-megapixel front-facing camera. Finally, it is expected to come with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
