Vivo V40 SE may be a rebranding of the Y200e 5G

Vivo’s V30 series smartphones debuted on the global market not so long ago. However, there are already news about the upcoming V40 series. For example, the Vivo V40 SE has been spotted in certifications such as Bluetooth SIG and GCF. Now, thanks to a leak from Appauls, renders and specifications of the smartphone have appeared.

Specifications of Vivo V40 SE

The leaked renders show that the phone’s design is significantly different from the V30 series. But it’s surprisingly similar to the recently unveiled Vivo Y200e 5G. In particular, the blue color of the V40 SE looks strikingly similar, and it may also come in a light purple hue.

Not only the design, but also the phone’s specifications don’t seem to differ much from the Y200e. The Vivo V40 SE is rumored to be powered by a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip, the same as the Y200e, along with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 ROM.

The front is said to have a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution (2400×1080 pixels) and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

As for the camera, the phone may debut with a rear camera consisting of a 50-megapixel primary lens, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel lens for portrait or macro photography. On the front, there will likely be a 16-megapixel selfie camera. It will also include an optical fingerprint sensor under the display for security.

In addition, the phone is rumored to feature a 5000 mAh battery with 44W fast charging support and possibly an IP54 rating. Other rumored features of the device include MicroSD for expandable storage of up to 1 TB, dual-SIM support, 5 GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C 2.0, and GPS.

All the rumors about the specs of Vivo V40 SE seem quite similar to those of Vivo Y200e. So it looks like a rebranding of the device.

Price and launch (expected)

As for the price, the report says that the V40 SE configuration with 8/256 GB will cost between 250 and 300 euros.

Although the official launch date of the phone remains a secret, it has a UEFA Euro 2024 wallpaper with the Vivo logo as the official smartphone brand. The Champions League will start on June 14, so we can expect the Vivo V40 SE to launch around that time.
