At the meetings with top tech companies at the World Economic Forum in Davos, representatives of the Ministry of Digital Transformation showed Diia, digital documents, and surveys, and how Diia.Signature works. Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov stated that, given the great interest, the team of the Ministry of Digital Transformation is going to open the Diia code for the development of government applications in other countries.
“Let me remind you that Ukraine is the first country in the world to have digital passports,” says Fedorov. -“Soon we will open the Diia code, and other countries will be able to get it and create their own application based on Diia. This is a great case study that will show that Ukraine can not only receive aid but also help others. We cooperate on a win-win basis.”
What is Diia Today?
Today, almost 20 million Ukrainians use Diia, which is half of Ukraine’s population. In addition to digital passports, Diia offers 14 documents that can be quickly accessed with a fingerprint. Currently, more than 100 services are available in the app and on the Diia website.
During the war, Ukrainians through Diia received UAH 31 million in state aid when they moved to other regions and lost their jobs.
In 2022, Ukrainians registered more than 141 thousand individual entrepreneurs through Diia, and in 2023 the number of businesses almost doubled. In the second year of the full-scale invasion, during the constant shelling and blackouts, 229+ thousand new sole proprietorships were opened.
The real anti-corruption effect of digitalization amounted to UAH 16.3 billion. And this figure can grow to UAH 48 billion.
Survey
Today, the Ministry of Digital Transformation is conducting a survey through Diia on the timeliness of receiving salaries with US support. The results will ensure a higher level of transparency and accountability in the use of Direct Budget Support (DBS) money from the United States Government.
Civil servants who receive part of their salaries from U.S. support will answer questions that are confidential.
The Ministry of Finance will analyze the results of the survey and use the information to improve the system of payments from the state budget. Increased transparency in the use of budget and donor funds will further strengthen trust between Ukraine and its allies.
