The battery of this smartphone provides 6 months of operation

What if a smartphone manufacturer decided to cram as many features into a device as possible and not worry about keeping the design pocket-friendly? This is the approach taken by Oukitel with its new WP100 Titan smartphone. The company is known for making thick phones with extended battery life, and its new 1.3-inch-thick Titan takes it even further with a 33,000 mAh battery that the company says is good for 4,459 hours of standby time – or about six months. In addition to the gigantic battery, the company has managed to squeeze in other amenities, such as a projector.

Originally announced at CES 2025, Oukitel is making the WP100 Titan available through a Kickstarter campaign that has already surpassed its modest funding goal of $10,000. The first backers of the campaign can pre-order the WP100 Titan for $599, a discount from the retail price of $899. Oukitel plans to ship the device in April 2025. Supporting crowdfunded products always involves a certain level of risk, but the company says it is ready to start mass production in March and has already shipped test samples.

Oukitel says that thanks to a 2.5GHz MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage, the Titan’s huge battery allows for up to 289 hours of phone talk time or 49 hours of video on a 6.8-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

On the back of the phone is a 1200-lumen LED camping light that can last up to 150 hours – provided you don’t use the phone for other purposes – but its built-in projector isn’t as bright. It’s limited to just 100 lumens, which means you’ll need a very dark place to come close to producing a big-screen image. Oukitel doesn’t specify how long the battery lasts while using the projector, but the company claims that you can watch up to six full-length movies on a full charge.

The Titan projector is IP68 waterproof, which means it can be immersed in water up to five feet deep for 30 minutes and can withstand a drop from almost the same height. On the back is a 200-megapixel main camera, a 20-megapixel infrared night vision camera, and a two-megapixel macro camera, while on the front is a 32-megapixel selfie camera.

Oukitel says the WP100 Titan will run Android 14. The company claims that “an OTA update to Android 15 is just around the corner,” but it is unknown whether the Titan will be updated to Android 16 when Google releases the next version of its mobile OS later this year.
