The Ministry of Digital Transformation is summarizing the results of the IT studios pilot in order to further scale the project to the whole of Ukraine. Last year, the ministry launched the pilot project “Updated Informatics – IT Studios” together with the Ministry of Education and Science and the EU. More than 3,000 students from 50 schools studied under the new system.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation collected feedback from teachers, analyzed the results, and saw the effectiveness of the program. For example, before the launch of the updated computer science, fourth-graders could not create a presentation on their own. Now, they are confidently doing it and helping other students.
Starting September 1, IT studios will be taught in all schools in Ukraine. Starting from school, children will acquire modern knowledge that will enable them to master a demanded and relevant profession in the future.
Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Ministry of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov said:
“I am convinced that the updated computer science lessons will help many people take their first steps in IT. And later, they will be able to create innovative startups, work in large technology companies and move Ukraine forward to a trillion-dollar GDP.”
The government continues to work systematically on the transformation of education. Educational resources will also be available on the Diia.Osvita platform and later in the Mriya app. This is to ensure that children can acquire relevant knowledge anywhere and anytime.
“Every Ukrainian must learn to learn and constantly strive for more. Don’t wait for changes – create them. I advise you to start with education – your own and your children’s.”
