Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra: the new rock star in the Android world

In general, phone manufacturers today focus more on software than hardware. The reason is simple: software drives the artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms that power features like advanced camera capabilities, voice assistants, and personalized recommendations. Additionally, the software can be updated regularly by adding new features and enhancements through app stores.

Samsung seems to be challenging industry trends, as seen in the latest Galaxy S25 series. The South Korean consumer electronics manufacturer has added useful AI features and updated the hardware in its Galaxy S25 Ultra phone. We tested the 12GB/256GB Titanium Silver Blue version with a strong emphasis on artificial intelligence. Samsung says that these AI features are more deeply integrated at both the hardware and software levels compared to last year’s phones. I think it’s one of the best Android phones out there, with all-around improvements to the display, camera, and battery. Smooth and fast overall performance remains the biggest advantage of this smartphone.

To begin with, the S25 Ultra has an even larger 6.9-inch screen with a sleek and durable titanium frame, a new Corning Gorilla Armor 2 coating on the front display, and a built-in S-Pen. The phone has a modern and bold design. It has a sturdy construction, is scratch and anti-glare resistant, and can withstand accidental drops on uneven surfaces. The smoothed corners of the phone make it easy to hold in your hand.

Inside we see the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite, the most powerful processor in the Galaxy S series. This platform controls the artificial intelligence capabilities of the device. It’s also responsible for ultra-smooth gaming, smooth and fast performance in everyday use. In addition, it improves energy efficiency and extends battery life. The S25 Ultra offers three storage options to choose from: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. It runs on One UI 7, Samsung’s first AI-powered platform that delivers a personalized mobile experience powered by artificial intelligence.

As for the camera, the most attractive feature is the ultra-wide-angle sensor, which has now been increased to 50 megapixels from 12 megapixels. With its 120-degree field of view and f/1.9 aperture, it takes wide landscape shots and group photos. Otherwise, the phone has a 200-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel 5x telephoto camera, and a 10-megapixel 3x zoom camera, just like last year’s Ultra model. Selfie enthusiasts can use the 12-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture to shoot 4K UHD video at 30/60 frames per second. The auto focus feature allows users to create sharp, focused images for self-portraits.

It’s clear that Samsung’s flagship device has a lot of artificial intelligence tasks on its plate. For example, a new tool called AI Select evaluates user activity on the screen to suggest appropriate background images and GIFs. The hugely popular Circle to Search AI feature has also been given the ability to recognize sound. This means that instead of just searching for what’s on the screen, it can now recognize sounds, such as songs from videos and social media posts. With Writing Assist, you can summarize content or automatically format notes. Drawing Assist helps you bring your ideas to life with a combination of sketches, text, or graphic prompts. Ultimately, it’s the users who discover the usefulness of artificial intelligence features.
