Samsung Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+ will be equipped with the existing ISOCELL GN3 sensor

Leaks about Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 series smartphones have been circulating on the Internet long before the launch of the Galaxy S24 series. Recently, a leak revealed the camera specifications of the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S26 Ultra. It is also reported that the upcoming Galaxy S25 series will undergo significant design changes.

Tech Reve, a reliable informant on X (formerly Twitter), recently claimed that Samsung may ditch the existing GN3 sensor for the vanilla S25 and S25+ smartphones. The leaker added that Samsung intends to equip the smartphones with Sony sensors. However, a new leak suggests that Samsung has canceled its plans to ditch the GN3 sensor.

Samsung will continue to use the GN3 sensor in the upcoming Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ smartphones

Samsung has equipped the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ smartphones with the ISOCELL GN3 sensor for the main camera. The size of the sensor is 1/1.56 inches and the pixel size is 1.0 microns. The ISOCELL GN3 sensor is a slight upgrade from the ISOCELL GN5 sensor used in the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+.

A leak from Tech Reve shows that the South Korean giant will continue to equip Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ smartphones with the same sensor. The new leak came as a surprise to buyers who were hoping for improved image quality in the upcoming Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ smartphones.

Recently, it was revealed that Samsung has brought in a designer from Mercedes Benz to significantly update the design of the Galaxy S25 series of smartphones. Samsung has been using the same design for its flagship smartphones for the past three years. The upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra is also rumored to feature Samsung’s new 200-megapixel sensor.

The upcoming 200-megapixel sensor will reportedly have a sensor size of 1 inch with a pixel size of 0.8 microns. Samsung will equip the sensor with horizontal and vertical dual-pixel autofocus (H/V DPAF) and support for 4x zoom on the sensor. The South Korean giant will equip the Galaxy S25 Ultra smartphone with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset.

According to rumors, the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra will also receive a new ultra-wide-angle lens with a resolution of 50 megapixels. The sensor will be paired with a composite telephoto lens with numerous features. Samsung is likely to equip the device with support for variable zoom. The South Korean giant will also supply the upcoming Galaxy S25 series smartphones with an AMOLED display based on M15. According to rumors, the vanilla Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ will be equipped with Exynos 2500 chipsets outside the US and China.
