Samsung CEO confirms Galaxy Ring launch date

Samsung unexpectedly announced its first smart ring at the Galaxy S24 series launch last month. Although it had been rumored even before the announcement, the Galaxy Ring caused quite a stir despite the fact that its official launch is still several months away. Now, in a new development, a Samsung executive has confirmed the launch timeline for the wearable.

Samsung CEO confirms Galaxy Ring launch dates

Samsung’s global head of B2B wearables/IoT/accessories, Daniel Seung Lee, shared on LinkedIn that a new wearable health and wellness product will be launched in the second half of the year. The device the executive is referring to is indeed the Galaxy Ring.

The Samsung executive’s revelation coincides with the timing previously mentioned by a consumer technology analyst. The South Korean brand holds two Galaxy Unpacked events every year, the second one in August. However, last year, the event was held earlier for the first time – at the end of July, so Samsung’s plans for this year remain unclear. The event usually focuses on the new generation of Galaxy Z Foldable smartphones, tablets, and watches. Therefore, the launch of the Galaxy Ring at the same event did not come as a surprise.

Recently, the Samsung Galaxy Ring was spotted in the Good Lock app. This indicates that the development of the smart ring continues. According to rumors, the wearable device will be available in sizes up to the 13th, and is said to be ridiculously light. It will also be available in three colors. Meanwhile, the teaser video confirmed the Galaxy Ring will feature a heart rate monitor, Samsung Health support, and pogo pins.
