On February 22, Xiaomi hosted an event to launch its flagship smartphone Xiaomi 14 Ultra in China. At the event, the brand also briefly hinted at the upcoming arrival of the Redmi G Pro 2024 gaming laptop, which it said would be “the strongest laptop under 10,000 yuan,” which is about $1,390.
An announcement about the pre-order window for the Redmi G Pro laptop has now appeared on Xiaomi’s Chinese Mall App, showing that the laptop is currently available for pre-order and will be available by March 4. It also mentions “Stay tuned for March 4”, which is most likely the official launch date for this gaming laptop.
Although official details about the laptop’s specifications are scarce at the moment, preliminary reports indicate that the top-of-the-line model will feature an i9-14900HX processor and RTX 4070 graphics card. A preliminary Geekbench listing also confirms that there will also be an Intel i5-14500HX-based version that will be equipped with an RTX 4060 graphics card. Both of these models have 16 GB of DDR5 RAM.
Judging by the visuals, it looks like the laptop will have a thin gray metallic body. The previous generation of the laptop was equipped with a 16-inch LCD panel with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and a refresh rate of 240 Hz, which is likely to be in this model. It also supported 100-watt PD charging via USB-C and was equipped with a massive 80 Wh battery supported by a 330 Watt power adapter.
By the way, recently Xiaomi presented two new smartphones for the global market at MWC 2024. The first device is the Xiaomi 14, which was launched a few months ago in China, and the second is the long-awaited Xiaomi 14 Ultra. In addition to these flagship smartphones, the brand also launched the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro tablet, Xiaomi Watch 2, Watch S3, and Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro.
