The upcoming remake of the beloved RPG, Persona 4: Revival, will feature a completely new English voice cast, developer Atlus has announced. Producer Kazuhisa Wada revealed at Gamescom 2026 that the original English voice actors from the 2008 release are largely unavailable for the new version.
A New Voice for an Old Favorite
Wada explained that the original Persona 4 English voice recordings were completed many years ago. Due to the significant time gap between the original game and the upcoming remake, many of the original voice actors have either left the industry or have become highly sought-after professionals with demanding schedules. This makes reuniting the original cast a logistical impossibility.
One prominent example cited was the original voice actor for Yosuke Hanamura, Yuri Lowenthal. “So we realized that we couldn’t gather the original cast,” Wada stated. “Therefore, we had no choice but to start over with a new lineup and do our best with that.”
