Oppo, the Chinese tech giant, seems set for an even bigger launch of its flagship Find X8 series next year. The Find X8 and X8 Pro debuted earlier this month with the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor, but new rumors suggest that two more models will be released in the first quarter of 2025.
The information comes courtesy of tech reviewer Smart Pikachu, who shared a post on Weibo suggesting that Oppo’s Find X8 lineup could expand beyond the expected Ultra model.
According to Smart Pikachu, two new smartphones will join the series, although the specific names of these additional models remain undisclosed.
Oppo’s Find X series has never had a fixed number of smartphones. For example, the Find X2 and X3 series included four different models each, while the Find X5 went to a more streamlined trio.
The Find X6 and X7 lines were reduced to two models, and the first Ultra model appeared in January 2024 under the name Find X7 Ultra. Interestingly, the Find X7 lineup was missing a Pro variant, which is now back with the Find X8 series.
While we’re not sure about the exact nature of the new addition to the Find X8 series, it’s worth noting that Oppo has previously explored Lite and Neo variants in the Find X lineup.
Vivo recently launched a Pro Mini model in the X200 series, so it’s possible that Oppo is also considering a compact flagship this year. Rumors even surfaced this month that five major Chinese smartphone brands are exploring compact flagship options. Oppo might be one of them.
Oppo is expected to release the Find X8 Ultra smartphone in the first quarter of 2025. If Oppo is indeed planning to expand its lineup beyond these three models, more details about future Find X8 devices should be revealed in the coming months. Stay tuned for updates as they become available.
