Oppo is expected to launch the Find X8 series in Q4 of this year. Rumors claim that the Oppo Find X8 may be powered by the Dimensity 9400 chipset. It is also hinted that the phone may feature a flat display with a 1.5K resolution instead of the curved one offered by its predecessor. The phone may also feature a larger primary sensor from Sony.
The rumors come from a well-known Weibo informant with the nickname Digital Chat Station. Without mentioning the name of the model, he said that the flagship based on the Dimensity 9400 processor will be equipped with a 6.5-inch display with a resolution of 1.5K and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. He also noted that the screen will be manufactured by a Chinese display manufacturer. Currently, the prototype does not have a quadrangular design on the front panel. This hints that the phone may come with a flat display, which would be a significant design change from the Oppo Find X7.
Speaking of cameras, the phone has three lenses on the back – a 50-megapixel Sony IMX9 series primary sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 3x periscope telephoto lens. The large circular camera system will also feature the Hasselblad logo. Although DCS didn’t mention the phone’s model name in his post, the comments suggest that it will be the Oppo Find X8. The information shared by DCS also matches most of the previous leaks about the phone.
The whistleblower responded to the comments in the comments section, saying that the current prototype features a “clean, straight screen” and does not have a quadrangular curved glass.
According to a previous report, the 3x periscope telephoto module is expected to be equipped with an IMX882 (1/1.95-inch) sensor. The telephoto module may have an equivalent focal length of 73 mm and an aperture of f/2.65. The Realme 13 Pro+ and OnePlus 13 are also expected to get the same sensor for telephoto.
Earlier, we reported that Oppo Find X8 may include a total of three models, one more than the Find X7 series. In particular, there will be Oppo Find X8 Pro, and Oppo Find X8 Ultra is expected to be released separately (in Q1 2025), similar to the latest Xiaomi flagships.
